Our story
I have a confession to make. We used to eat meat. With every meal. We used to make fun of vegetarians and vegans. But many years, bad labs, extra weight and food documentaries later, we changed our tune. As we learned how to go vegan, we found meat analogs in the grocery store were limited in what they could do. We also were not fond of the ingredient list. We missed nostalgic dishes we grew up with. Why couldn’t the industry come up with a vegan meat that could do everything a cut of beef could do?
So, I gave it a try. Many iterations and taste tests later, we found Viande&Co as versatile as we hoped. We made our meat to have the same mouth feel as medium to medium-rare beef. With a neutral flavor profile, customizable to the tastes of the buyer. We are committed to using only ingredients we would feed to our own children.
We are able to grill, broil, braise, roast, stir-fry, stew and slice our plant based meat. It makes beef dishes you grew up with possible again. It can go as fancy as a Filet Mignon and as humble as a beef stew, and everything in between. The possibilities are endless.
Now having a plant based meal doesn’t have to be so unfamiliar or seem so foreign. Having more plant based meals can now be more of an achievable possibility. This is something we hope we can partner with you with as you navigate your journey towards health. Our mission is to empower people to live their fullest life, one delicious bite at a time.
Our ingredients
We are committed to ingredients that your grandmother would recognize as food. We choose our oil based on historical safety. There are no fillers or preservatives. We use flours that are lower in pesticide residues than other lower cost versions. We use produce locally sourced when possible and from growers equally committed to not using herbicides or pesticides.
